ABOUT

I am a realist painter who likes to paint still-life, landscapes, and portraits.  I paint nature, objects that speak to me, and portraits (mostly of people I love).  I am influenced by my travels and by observing the world around me.  I take photos of things that I paint.  As an artist, I take the liberty to make changes and paint what feels good to me (not necessarily what was in the original photos).

I think in colors and colors influence me greatly.  I like to mix my own hues from primary colors and use color to create the mood of the painting.  An organized person by nature, I seek order and structure.  I like my paintings to be organized and structured too.

I received a BA in Fine Art from Kean College.  I have studied drawing and painting at the 92 Street Y with Carla Aurich, Melanie Kozol, James Sheehan, Nancy Johnson, and Vivian Silvera – all great teachers and accomplished artists.
